Vote Seema Chandwani and Billy Hayes for Labour's CAC

Labour Party members can vote to elect two representatives to Labour's Conference Arrangements Committee (CAC).

The election is a One Member One Vote (OMOV) ballot, with ballot papers starting to be emailed out in the week commencing Monday 17 July.

The Centre-Left Grassroots Alliance is urging members to vote for Seema Chandwani and Billy Hayes.

Both will work to ensure that the Labour Party's Annual Conference is democratic and helps build up Labour's support.

A leaflet promoting a vote for the candidates can be found here (PDF) here (JPG).

Each CLP can submit a Contemporary Motion to this yearís Annual Conference (closing date 12 noon on†Thursday 15 September 2016), provided the CLP did not submit a rule change in 2016.

While this year CLP meetings are suspended until the conclusion of the Leadership election, the NEC has agreed that a meeting may be held to consider essential Annual Conference business, including Contemporary Motions.

The title should be a maximum of 10 words and the motion a maximum of 250 words.

Contemporary Motions are one of the few opportunities that constituencies have to influence the Conference agenda and thus the Partyís policy making.

CLPD's model draft Contemporary Motions can be found†here.
